So it’s been a while since I’ve updated my blog. My initial intent was to have this grow into something fairly sustainable, but then I got a job as a BI Analyst at a software startup in Downtown Denver. Then I moved next to Coors field, and being the stats nerd I am I’ve been attending way too many Rockies games these days.

Hire Edge App Open Source on  Git

I decided to release the source code, under a GNU General Public License, of my Hire Edge app for three reasons: first of all, I'm not entirely sure I can monetize this and it's by far the most basic concepts of the two apps I'm working on. Second, by releasing the source code users can implement usage on their own machine and I don't have to buy SQL warehousing yet.

​

This app can be used that anyone who knows how to run R source code. It's as simple at Ctrl+Return... but the user interface should be up pretty soon.

Price parity updated for MSA

It's amazing how much you can learn by just doing. I knew there was a way to extract Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) and implement the same parameter controls to make the price parity app a little more useful. State-level data is good. However, in many cases, for those seeking jobs, they want to know more about the metro area they live in. Quantitatively speaking, a good place to start is cost of living and how far their salary goes. This visualization helps with just that.
